Real Weddings | Rebekah & Charlie at Pencoed House Cardiff with iRock | Music HQ

By 6th November 2018 April 10th, 2019 Real Weddings

Rebekah and Charlie’s wedding looked like the perfect day. In every photo, every guest has the biggest smile on their face. The couple got married at St Catwg’s Church in Pentyrch and then celebrated at the immeasurable Cardiff wedding venue Pencoed House. And, testament to their superb taste, the lovely couple turned to Music HQ for their wedding entertainment in the form of indie rockers iRock.

We caught up with the couple to give us a little insight into their very special day.

Favourite Moment

It’s so hard to pick a favourite but some highlights were walking out of the church together right after we got married, and the moment our guests realised what our first dance song was! (No Tomorrow by Orson, absolute banger!)

Venue

Our venue was unlike any we’d ever seen before. Pencoed House is set in the most gorgeous grounds, we were so spoilt for choice when it came to picking spots for photographs, despite the rain! The main stone hall was the perfect size for our wedding as it still felt intimate during dinner and speeches even though there were just over 100 of us! It has a great balance between rustic and modern, with a fab bar area and mini marquee for the drinks reception. We loved it!

Wedding Theme/Style

I became obsessed with Pinterest in the run up to our wedding! Charlie didn’t have much to do with the theme or style of the day, he was happy to sit back and let me design everything. The theme was centred around greenery and eucalyptus, with my bridesmaids in forest green maxi dresses and our bouquets made up of ivory roses and different types of foliage. The venue really didn’t need dressing up too much, so I stuck with eucalyptus centrepieces throughout which made the room smell amazing!

Why did you choose iRock as your Wedding Entertainment?

Charlie and I met in 2014 while I was working at a live music venue in Swansea. Rory played acoustically on numerous occasions throughout my time there. We bonded over our love for John Mayer and became really good friends. I actually went to school with Leyton from the band too!

Charlie and I knew we wanted something special for our evening reception and iRock were the perfect choice. As an emo-rocker at heart, their setlist had everything I could have hoped for – we were sooo chuffed they were able to play at our wedding!

What did they bring to your celebration?

All our guests commented on how amazing iRock were. Not only are they genuinely lovely lads, they are so musically talented. They even learned No Tomorrow by Orson for us which was a definite highlight of the night, the guests went wild! The dance floor was full all night and the boys brought so much energy and fun to their set, even though it was their fourth wedding in a row that week! We really couldn’t have asked for a better band!

What did you think of the service provided by Music HQ?

Music HQ are fantastic, so professional and helpful in every way. They were so quick to respond to any queries and gave us all the information we needed in well organised emails. Nothing was too much trouble. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Music HQ to anyone looking to book entertainment for a wedding or corporate event.

Your golden nugget for other couples planning a wedding?

Our best piece of advice would be not to worry about the weather! We got married in July and the rain was torrential but it didn’t spoil a moment of our day. If anything, we think our wedding photographs are better because of it! A huge thank you to our amazing photographer Jennifer West.

If you could change anything about the day, what would it be?

We wouldn’t change a thing. Cheesy as it may sound, it really was the happiest day of our lives and we’ll cherish the memories forever.
