Andy and Lisa chose to celebrate their very special day at Canada Lodge and Lake. A stone-built lodge beside a shimmering lake, surrounded by lush green woodland. Its rustic charm and picturesque surroundings make it hard to believe you’re just a stones throw from the heart of Cardiff City Centre!
The incredible The Shellyann Band (formerly iLectric) had the absolute pleasure of celebrating with Andy and Lisa and all of their friends and family.
Here’s an insight into the couples perfect day.
What was your most favourite moment of the entire day?
It’s hard to choose one, getting married to my soulmate with all my friends and family was amazing but credit to the band in the evening who had all the guests, young and old, up dancing together and partying the night away.
Why did you choose your venue?
We loved the setting of Canada Lodge & Lake and the surroundings. We also loved the lodge set on the side of the lake giving a rustic feel to the venue. The size of the venue was also very important being big enough for our guests but also not too big, making the day more intimate.
Did you have a specific theme style for your big day?
We were going for a rustic wedding with a bit of a classy twist. We made use of the lodge and the woods along with deep purples and silver candelabras for a classy edge.
How did you hear about The Shellyann Band?
We came across the band after searching for Wedding Bands in Cardiff. We found the Music HQ website and took some time to look through all the bands. We watched all the videos on the website and on YouTube and thought they were amazing and we just LOVED the lead vocals of Shellyann.
What did they bring to your day?
They were very friendly and lovely to work with. They really engaged the crowd and the dancefloor was constantly full. We even had one of the maids of honour up singing some ABBA classics!
What did you think of the service provided by Music HQ?
Very good and very professional. They made sure they had all the details of the day and ensured the timings were right for our evening entertainment. They also kept us up to date on our booking and had a very friendly approach. Their website says they are experts in their field and I would have to wholeheartedly agree with that.
Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t stress too much on the big day. It can be very daunting just before as there is such a big build up, but once you are there surrounded by family and friends, that all disappears, and you will have the best day ever!
Looking back is there anything you would change?
I don’t think there is anything we would change. We had such a fantastic day and we look back on it with fond memories now.
