March 2019: Festival Heart

We spoke to the beautiful Abi from Festival Heart to answer our Band of the Month questions…

What is your favourite venue to play and why?

We love the Ceridwen Centre. It fits our vibe and look and they have tipis and barns! Food is always incredible and made on site and the staff are just amazing, it really shows in the weddings how much they care. Also, Ocean View down in South Wales’ beautiful Gower has breathtaking picturesque views – ‘Gowers best kept secret’ they call themselves, and I kinda think they are too!

What has been your favourite First Dance to perform live?

We performed Come On Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners once and we were all a bit dubious about it, but it was one of the best ones ever! Another classic we LOVE performing is Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together, it’s so feel good and upbeat but with all the right wedding vibes!

Which song in your set never fails to take the roof off the dancefloor?

‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ by Shania Twain. Both men and ladies absolutely love that song!

What do you love most about performing with the band?

I love it because I’m always the first one up on the dance floor at any party – so now I’m actually the party starter you couldn’t find a better job for me! I love after the set coming down and dancing with all the guests to the DJ Set and people love it.

What’s been your most memorable performance to date?

Most memorable experience was wedding we performed at the beautiful St David’s Hotel and Spa – The couple were massive music lovers and they seemed to love every single track we played and danced all night even after the music stopped! It makes seuch a difference to the whole evening’s atnosphere when the Bride and Groom are on the dancefloor.
